The short answer

Pick Devin when you want Cognition's agent. Pick Rush when you want Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode as the engine, with the trajectory kept.

The useful distinction

Both take a task into an isolated cloud machine and aim at a pull request. Devin is Cognition's compound agent. Rush is the runtime for the harness you already pay for.

Cognition's enterprise FAQ says Devin does not support third-party LLM API keys. If the invoice already has Claude or OpenAI on it, that is the fork.

Decision

When each side wins

Rush Cloud wins when

  • The team already runs Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode.
  • The reviewer needs the trajectory, not only the diff.
  • A second harness will run in the same Project next week.

Devin wins when

  • You want Cognition's agent, Slack/Linear wiring, and stacked GitHub PRs.
  • You need Enterprise dedicated VPC or Outposts with the Brain still at Cognition.
  • You will live on unpublished quotas and on-demand credits.

When both

  • A team can keep Devin on well-scoped 3-hour tickets (Cognition's own rule of thumb) and put Rush on harness-native work.

When neither

  • Neither product is an editor. Neither is a model company. Neither will merge without a human if you set branch protection.

Rush Cloud

Where Rush sits

Rush Cloud runs Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode in an isolated Project. The reviewer gets the trajectory, or the Task stays needs_review.

Honest limits

Skip Rush if

  • You need a team that already runs Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode. Rush does not invent a fourth harness.
  • Sandboxes are us-west-2. Customer VPC is roadmap. A signed compliance report is not something we publish today.
  • Compute is metered. Sixty minutes are included per user per calendar month. The invoice bills sandbox time after that allowance.
  • You will review the PR. Rush does not merge for you.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Can I use Rush and the vendor cloud side by side?

Yes. Many teams keep Claude Code on the web or Cursor Cloud Agents for a single-vendor loop and put Rush on the tasks that need a shared Project, a second harness, or a trajectory they can hand to a reviewer.

Does Rush replace Claude Code or Codex?

No. Rush runs those binaries. You keep the seat or the key. Rush is the runtime.

Where does the code go when I leave?

Anything pushed to your GitHub remote stays there. That is the off-ramp on every product in this set, including Rush.

Can Devin use my Anthropic key?

Official enterprise FAQ: Devin does not currently support third-party LLM API keys.
