Devin alternatives
People search this because they want Devin's job (ticket, isolated cloud, pull request) without locking the Brain to Cognition. Devin did not get worse. The bill, the harness, and the proof object changed.

Rush Cloud is our product. It is listed first because it is the runtime this site sells. The other rows are from vendor docs retrieved the same day.

The useful distinction
People search Devin alternatives because they want the job (ticket, isolated cloud, pull request) without locking the Brain to Cognition.
The useful split is the engine. Devin is Cognition's compound agent. Cursor Cloud Agents are Cursor's Agent. Copilot cloud agent stays inside GitHub Actions. Rush runs the Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode binary you already pay for.
Routing
If you… use… not if
| If you | Use | Not if |
|---|---|---|
| Already pay for Claude Code or Codex and want that same session in the cloud | Rush Cloud, or Claude Code on the web / Codex cloud if you only need that one vendor | You want Cognition's agent, not the harness you already run |
| Live in Cursor and want unattended PRs from the same Agent | Cursor Cloud Agents | You refuse to put the repo on a paid Cursor plan |
| The work already lives as a GitHub issue and should stay there | GitHub Copilot cloud agent, or Jules if a Gemini VM is enough | The repo is not on github.com, or the task needs more than 59 minutes |
| You want Cognition's own agent and will review its PRs | Devin | You must bring your own model keys. Devin does not support that. |

Depth
In depth
Free 5 agent-hours a month, then $20 Pro. 15 September 2026.
Rush Cloud
Teams that already run Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode and want a shared Project around that session.
Devin's job is ticket to isolated cloud to PR. Rush keeps the job and swaps the Brain for the harness on your invoice.
The difference you can verify: the label on the run is the binary that ran. There is no silent reroute to another model.
Taps out. Three harnesses. us-west-2. Free stops at 5 agent-hours.
Pro $20 / mo. Cloud Agents at model API prices. 15 September 2026.
Cursor Cloud Agents
Teams already standardized on Cursor who want the same Agent off the laptop.
Official docs: Cloud Agents were formerly Background Agents. They run in Firecracker microVMs and open a draft PR.
Cursor's 2 September 2026 post says cloud agents now create more than 60% of the pull requests Cursor merges internally. That is a vendor number, not an independent benchmark.
Taps out. Paid Cursor plan. Auto-run terminals. Environment setup is the quality limiter.
Copilot Pro $10 / mo + AI credits. 15 September 2026.
GitHub Copilot cloud agent
Backlog items that should never leave GitHub.
GitHub docs name this Copilot cloud agent. It is not Copilot Workspace. Workspace was a GitHub Next preview that ended 30 May 2025.
Official limits: one repo, one branch, exactly one PR, 59-minute cap, GitHub-hosted repositories only.
Taps out. 59 minutes. github.com only. New self-serve Copilot sign-ups were paused in April 2026.
Included with Claude Pro $20 / mo. 15 September 2026.
Claude Code on the web
Claude Code users who want Anthropic to host the VM.
Same harness as local Claude Code. Fresh Anthropic VM, GitHub clone, PR from the browser. Research preview as of this retrieval.
This is the closest vendor-hosted cousin of Rush for Claude-only teams. Rush adds Codex, OpenCode, and Project multiplayer.
Taps out. Claude only. GitHub required to push. ZDR orgs cannot use it.
Included with ChatGPT Plus $20 / mo. 15 September 2026.
Codex cloud
Teams already on ChatGPT who want OpenAI's agent in a box.
Codex cloud runs background tasks in isolated containers. Setup can use the network; the agent phase is offline by default.
API-key Codex is a different path. Official pricing docs: no cloud, no GitHub review, no Slack on the API-key product.
Taps out. OpenAI harness only. Cloud chats can consume more of the weekly allowance than local messages.
Factory Pro $20; Jules via Google AI; Amp Individual $20. 15 September 2026.
Factory, Jules, Amp
Teams who want a vendor agent with a persistent computer (Factory), a Gemini VM (Jules), or metered remote machines (Amp).
These three keep Devin's job and swap the vendor. None of them run your Claude Code or Codex binary as the primary engine.
Taps out. Each is its own harness. Jules is GitHub-only. Amp orbs are Amp's agent.

What we can chart
Self-serve starting price (individual, USD / month)
List prices from vendor pages retrieved 15 September 2026. Rush has no seat fee: the free plan includes 5 agent-hours a month and Pro is $20, so the bar is the seat, not the bill.
Rush Cloud
What Rush Cloud is
Rush Cloud keeps Devin's job and swaps the Brain for the harness on your invoice. The label on the run is the binary that ran.
You connect a GitHub repository, start a Task from the console or the CLI, and stay in the session. Closing the laptop does not end a durable run.
Authorization is Project membership. A teammate in the Project can see the work and send a follow-up. Browser and computer surfaces take an exclusive control lease.
A coding Task that cannot prove the PR is needs_review. It is not marked done.
Honest limits
Skip Rush if
- You need a team that already runs Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode. Rush does not invent a fourth harness.
- Sandboxes are us-west-2. Customer VPC is roadmap. A signed compliance report is not something we publish today.
- Compute is metered. Sixty minutes are included per user per calendar month. The invoice bills sandbox time after that allowance.
- You will review the PR. Rush does not merge for you.
FAQ
Questions people actually ask
Can I use Rush and the vendor cloud side by side?
Yes. Many teams keep Claude Code on the web or Cursor Cloud Agents for a single-vendor loop and put Rush on the tasks that need a shared Project, a second harness, or a trajectory they can hand to a reviewer.
Does Rush replace Claude Code or Codex?
No. Rush runs those binaries. You keep the seat or the key. Rush is the runtime.
Where does the code go when I leave?
Anything pushed to your GitHub remote stays there. That is the off-ramp on every product in this set, including Rush.
Is Devin still the right choice?
Yes, if you want Cognition's agent, will review its PRs, and can live without BYO model keys. Cognition's own 2025 review says Devin is senior at codebase understanding and junior at execution, and that it usually does worse when you keep adding requirements after it starts.
What about the Answer.AI 3-out-of-20 result?
That evaluation is 8 January 2025, before Devin 2.0 and the 2026 plan change. It is an independent data point. It is not a current benchmark. Do not treat 3/20 as today's score.
